Welcome to the Musango Center!
The Musango Center, located in Hood River, Oregon, is dedicated to bringing the music and culture of southern Africa to the Columbia River Gorge. We offer classes in southern African music on Zimbabwean-style marimbas, for children, youth and adults, ages 8 and up. The Center has two performing bands, and regularly sponsors visiting artists from Zimbabwe and elsewhere for concerts and other cultural events open to the community at large.
Musango means “in the forest” in the Shona language of Zimbabwe. The Center is located on 22 forested acres in the Columbia River Gorge community of Hood River. Come join us!
